Work Description:
United Airlines is seeking talented individuals to join the Data Engineering team. The Data Engineering team is responsible for driving data-driven insights and innovation to support business and operational initiatives with a digital focus.
Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with the Innovation team to deploy various projects and maintain software using public clouds like AWS.
– Design, develop, deploy, and maintain software at scale using Java and PySpark.
– Support Pre-Production environments, including application deployments, pipeline monitoring, disaster recovery, and incident/issue management.
– Work with other teams to define and implement data acquisition, transformation, processing, and analytics solutions that drive revenue and growth.
– Design, develop, and implement streaming and near-real-time data pipelines that feed systems critical to our business.
– Mentor and train junior developers.
Qualifications Required:
– Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related STEM field.
– Strong IT experience in software development.
– Development experience using Java, Python, and Scala.
– Experience with Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Hive, Kafka, Nifi.
– Experience with Linux Red Hat Administration.
– Experience with infrastructure design, implementation, and support.
– Legally authorized to work in India without sponsorship.
– Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Preferred:
– Master’s in computer science or related STEM field.
– AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional.
– AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional.
– Experience with cloud-based systems like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
– Strong experience in continuous integration and delivery using Agile methodologies.
– Data engineering experience in the transportation/airline industry.
– Strong problem-solving skills.
– Strong knowledge of Big Data.
